For most people, a person’s house is one of their most valuable assets. It is their symbol of safety, independence, success, and security. Unfortunately, due to a variety of circumstances, a house can also be a great source of stress, anxiety, and financial burden.
We at the Korean Community Development Services Center understand both sides of the coin and are available as a resource to you. Whether it is buying your first home or staying in those homes in the wake of job loss and other difficult circumstances, we can help.
Made possible through our partnership with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) and in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), the Korean Center’s Housing Counseling program is able to provide a comprehensive range of counseling services such as default and delinquency counseling, pre-purchase counseling, home improvement loans (e.g. PHIL Plus, Mini-PHIL, and PHIL), refinance loans, city tax liens, and tenant services.
Our counselors are all certified through NeighborWorks, PHFA, OHCD, and HUD and are able to provide service in Spanish, Laotian, Thai, and Korean. Our weekly workshops, classes, and events can be found on our calendar.
